I grew up in a dental family, my father, Dr. Don Krause, started the practice in 1959. I have always enjoyed working in the office growing up and loved working with my hands and exploring science.  I enjoy all the new technology that has evolved in Dentistry over the years.

I am married to Lana and we have four children, Grace, Samuel, Margaret, and Helen. I love going on family vacations. In my spare time I coach women’s lacrosse at Rockhurst University, visit Colorado for skiing, fishing, biking and hiking, and watch KU football and basketball.

I started my dental career as a general dentist and was drawn to the overall health of the patient and how that affects the mouth.  In order to pursue this, it seemed like a natural fit for me to continue on with my education and get a specialty degree in Periodontics. I enjoy helping patients maintain their oral health, contributing to their well-being. I currently teach at UMKC School of Dentistry in the Periodontics Department along with maintaining my private practice at Krause Dental Center. Dr. Kevin and I have four adult children and two grandchildren, with whom we enjoy spending our spare time.
